Under the Red Shawl

Under the Red Shawl is a gentle, yet thought-provoking story about the journey of a refugee child who is born on the day when everyone is fleeing town. The story follows the child, his mother and their donkey as they journey through desert, then snowy mountains to find a safe place. Although the journey is extreme, the story is gentle. It is the child's endless joy and imaginary play, that leads the child and his mother down a new path.?? Throughout the journey, the child is comforted and protected, by his mother's red shawl.
